An engine coolant control system for an exhaust gas recirculation system of a vehicle is provided to warm up quickly a coolant by controlling the coolant flowing to the exhaust gas recirculation system and blocking the coolant flowing to a cabin heater. An engine coolant control system for an exhaust gas recirculation system of a vehicle, includes a coolant control valve(10) and an ECU(20). An operation detection unit detects the temperature of the coolant flowing along an exhaust gas recirculation cooler(300). The coolant control valve is turned on/off in accordance with the detected temperature of the coolant. The ECU controls the coolant control valve in accordance with the signal output from the operation detection unit.
