摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit excessive load from being applied on an engine 7 and accessories equipped in the engine 7 even if an abnormal gear shift occurs during gear shift in a control device 5 for a vehicular automatic transmission 1. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicular automatic transmission 1 includes a gear shift mechanism part 3 including at least two planetary mechanisms 31, 32 and an intermediate rotary element 33, a hydraulic control device 4 controlling operation of a plurality of hydraulic engagement elements C1-C4, B1, B2 for establishing a suitable gear position in the gear shift mechanism part 3, and a control device 5 executing gear shift process for securing arbitrary gear position by controlling the hydraulic control device 4.
