<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acidic component removing agent which suppresses the pressure loss of filter cloth, prevents a filter layer from dropping from the surface of the filter cloth, hardly causes trouble when discharged from a silo or the like and has excellent handleability, and its production method. <P>SOLUTION: The acidic component removing agent contains alkaline-earth metal carbonates and fumed silica. The content of alkaline-earth metal carbonates is 1-5 mass% and that of fumed silica is 0.5-2.0 mass%.
