PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electronic component which can be surely mounted on a rocking body of an operating knob even if it is made compact. SOLUTION: The rotary electronic component is provided with cases 10, 30, a rocking body 50 housed in the cases 10, 30 so as to rock in an arc shape, electric functioning parts such as a slider 80 changing an electric output by rocking of the rocking body 50, and an operating knob 100 coupled with the rocking body 50 for integrally rocking with the rocking body 50. Coupling of the operating knob 100 and the rocking body 50 presses and engages pressing engagement parts 57, 109 themselves provided at an opposed face where the operating knob 100 and the rocking body 50 are opposed to each other, and at the same time, the rocking body 50 is provided with a first and a second locking protrusions 59, 67 protruded outward from the cases 10, 30 along a direction of a rocking center axis, which 59, 67 are engaged with locking pieces 105, 107 set in extension from the operating knob 100 toward outside of side faces of the cases 10, 30.
