PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of modernizing an elevator system capable of updating the control function of the elevator system by a simple means. SOLUTION: In this method of modernizing the control of an elevator system 10 having at least one terminal 20, 25, the terminal 20, 25 is updated by a control data packet for modernizing the control function of the elevator system 10 stored in a moving control data storage element 30. In this method, the control data packet is transmitted from the control data storage element 30 to the terminal 20, 25 by a near-field radio connection generated in the area of a pre-defined distance R between the moving control data storage element 30 and the terminal 20, 25.
