PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna apparatus of a wide band, which is small-sized and low cost and is suitable to be built in a portable wireless apparatus. SOLUTION: The antenna apparatus is provided with a radiation conductor 1, having nearly a quarter wavelength to a resonance frequency and a counter conductor 4c, having a wavelength shorter than nearly a quarter wavelength with respect to the resonance frequency, and being arranged facing the radiation conductor to be connected to a power feeding line 3. The counter conductor is of a tip short circuit type where an end on a side which is not connected to the power feeding line is connected electrically with the radiation conductor or a tip opening type, where the end on the side which is not connected to the power feeding line is insulated electrically from the radiation conductor. The radiation conductor and the conductor of one of parallel lines functioning as an inductance component or a capacitance component are integrated with each other likes in this manner.
