<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide type DNA sensor capable of accurately detecting DNAs, even for a small amount of a DNA specimen, and to provide a DNA detection method. <P>SOLUTION: The optical waveguide type DNA sensor includes a light waveguide 32, a gold colloid solution, a probe DNA and a sensing region 38 to which a target DNA is imparted.
