PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin display device that leads to the possibility that a thin television is allowed to be put in an existing storage box even in the case of purchase of a thin television having a larger display screen than a CRT television that has been used so far. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a display section 1 having a display surface at the front, and a stand 2 supporting the display section 1 in such a manner that it can move up and down in an upstanding posture, wherein a load acceptor 31 is detachably disposed between the stand 2 and the display section 1, the display section 1 is situated in an upper position higher than an under surface of the stand 2 by the load acceptor 31, and the display section 1 is situated in an under position lower than an under surface of the stand 2 by detaching the load acceptor 31.
