PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for updating software without unpacking even a large electronic device. SOLUTION: An electronic device 3 and a receiving device 5 are disposed in a pack 1, and a software server 11 and a radio device 7 are disposed outside of the package. The software receiving device 5 is packaged outside the electronic device and has a built-in power source 5a for operation. The electronic device is provided with a rewriting circuit 3a and a built-in memory (EEPROM for storing programs) 3b. The software server 11 sends to the radio device 7 data related to the software to be updated of the electronic device 3 in the package, and then sends the data to the electronic device 3 via the receiving device 5 in the package, the electronic device 3 being connected thereto by cable. When the receiving device 5 sends the data, the rewriting circuit 3a is also activated. Based on the data, the software is rewritten, updated, and stored in the built-in memory 3b.
