PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve on-ice performance without lowering travelling performance on a dry road surface in a pneumatic tire having the block of a tread part divided into a plurality of small blocks by a sipe extended in the width direction and adding sipes to the small blocks. SOLUTION: The block 4 is divided into four small blocks 41-44 by the main sipe 4. In the small blocks 41-44, cross sipes 6, 7 consisting of two small sipes crossing each other are formed. By forming the cross sipes 6, 7 in the small blocks 41-44, the ground-contact pressure in the central parts of the small blocks 41-44 is decreased, and that in the edge parts thereof is increased. Compressive rigidity in the edge parts is assured while only that in the central parts is lowered, thereby increasing edge pressure. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
