PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent cutting chips generated by cutting a bundle of sheets from getting into a cutter or bookbinding sheets, and to enable continuous and stable cutting without jamming of the cutting chips. SOLUTION: A sheet cutter is provided with: a sheet bundle conveyance means for feeding and setting a bundle of sheets to a predetermined cutting position; a cutting means provided at the cutting position for cutting the bundle of sheets; a cutting width specifying means for specifying the sheet cutting width by the cutting means; a memory means for defining an upper limit value and/or a lower limit value of the sheet cutting width cuttable by the cutting means; and a control means of the sheet bundle conveyance means and the cutting means. The control means includes a comparison means for comparing a cut quantity specified by the cutting width specifying means with the upper limit value and/or the lower limit value defined by cut limit values stored in the memory means, and sets the cutting width within the limited cut value based on the comparison results for cutting.
