PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an Al-based plated heat-treated steel material in which a prescribed plating layer is made present even if an Al-based plated steel material is heat-treated, and capable of securing corrosion resistance after coating and coating film adhesion as those of an automobile member. SOLUTION: Regarding the heat-treated steel material obtained by heating an Al-based plated steel material to a temperature region in which plastic deformation is facilitated or to a temperature region in which quenching is possible, the coating weight of plating present in the surface is 20 to 100 g/m<SP>2</SP>(per side), the concentration of Fe in the plating layer is 2 to 35 mass%, and the surface roughness Ra (JIS B0610) of the plating layer is 1.5 to 5μm. The steel material can be obtained by heating an Al-based plating steel material at a temperature rising rate of≥30°C/s, cooling the same at a cooling rate of≥30°C/s, and pressurizing its surface.
