PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustic transducer available as a speaker or a microphone, wherein acoustics of much higher sound pressure can be generated while attaining miniaturization and weight reduction. SOLUTION: An acoustic transducer 1 is provided with: a housing 3 configured by forming a cavity part S1 that is opening outwardly; an approximately plate-shaped fixed electrode 7 which faces an opening 3a and forms a part of the housing 3; a diaphragm 5 which includes an electrode 29 and is disposed between the opening 3a and the fixed electrode 7; and an elastic deforming part 17 which can be elastically deformed, supporting the diaphragm 5 with respect to the housing 3 so as to vibrate the diaphragm in a thickness direction, wherein the fixed electrode 7 and the electrode 29 are electrically insulated from each other, the elastic deforming part 17 separates the diaphragm 5 from the fixed electrode 7 in a balanced state where no elastic force is generated therein, and can be elastically deformed to a position where the diaphragm 5 is brought into contact with the fixed electrode 7.
