PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance productivity in emulsification and the image density of toner because even when a masterbatch of a colorant is used in toner manufacture, emulsifiability in emulsification can be improved and occurrence of coarse particles can be suppressed. SOLUTION: A masterbatch for toner containing a resin, a colorant and a plasticizer is provided. A method for preparing a resin emulsified liquid for toner is provided comprising a step of mixing at least the masterbatch and a binder resin, and a step of dispersing and emulsifying the resulting mixture in an aqueous medium, wherein the ratio between the melt viscosity of the masterbatch and the melt viscosity of the binder resin at 95°C measured with a flow tester (the viscosity of the masterbatch/the viscosity of the binder resin) is 0.1-0.5. There are also provided a resin emulsified liquid for toner obtained by the method for preparing a resin emulsified liquid for toner, an electrophotographic toner obtained using the resin emulsified liquid and a method for manufacturing the same.
