PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature measuring method using an ultrasonic wave, capable of measuring the temperature distribution in a medium by propagating the ultrasonic wave in the medium. SOLUTION: The temperature distribution in a plate material 2 is measured based on the propagation time of the ultrasonic wave propagating in the plate material 2 for a certain distance and known data of the plate material 2. As the known data, data of the speed of the ultrasonic wave to temperature and thermal diffusivity are used. Using the fact that the speed of the ultrasonic wave in the plate material 2 is dependent on the temperature, the temperature distribution in the plate material 2 can be measured based on the known data related to the propagation speed of the ultrasonic wave.
