PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conjugate of a non-peptide hydrophilic polymer with lactoferrin that has reduced antigenicity, is endowed with pepsin resistance and has a prolonged in-vivo life time and is therefore highly clinically useful, and to provide a method for simply and mass-productively manufacturing and purifying in a short time a lactoferrin conjugate that retains a certain rate of bioactivities of natural lactoferrin and exhibits more excellent clinical usefulness than natural lactoferrin. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the biologically active conjugate of a branched non-peptide hydrophilic polymer with lactoferrin comprises a step for causing a reaction liquid containing lactoferrin and the branched non-peptide hydrophilic polymer to react under a condition of pH 8-10.
