PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-propelling printer which travels by itself in a printing range in which printing data is printed without performing printing and permitting the printing range to be confirmed before printing is performed, which permits the printing range to be easily adjusted to a required printing range. SOLUTION: When a printing range confirmation mode is set, the self-propelling printer 1 computes the printing range based on the printing data input (S11). The self-propelling printer 1 makes a printing range confirmation movement to move in the printing range on a paper 55 without jetting an ink on the basis of the computed printing range. When the printing range confirmation movement ends, the self-propelling printer 1 moves in the direction opposite to the movement direction at the time of the printing range confirmation movement and performs an movement to an initial position to return to the initial position before it starts the printing range confirmation movement. When sensing the end of the paper 55 by a paper end sensor 10 during the printing range confirmation movement, the self-propelling printer 1 reduces the printing range on the basis of the printing data and makes the printing range confirmation movement and the initial position movement on the basis of the reduced printing range.
