PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent fan blades from being damaged by a fan case even when a dropping impact or the like is applied, and to reduce the operating noises of a hair dryer. SOLUTION: In a main body case 1, a blowing fan 12 and a motor 13, a fan case 18, and a heater unit 14 are arranged. The fan case 18 is held and fixed by a recess section wall 19 which is installed on the main body case 1. An intermediate case 9 is fitted and fixed on the external surface of the recess section wall 19 and the periphery of the blowing fan 12 is triply surrounded with the fan case 18, the recess section wall 19 and the intermediate case 9. Therefore, a cushioning space S which absorbs external impacts is formed between the internal bottom of the recess section wall 19 and the intermediate case 9, the deformation of the intermediate case 9 is absorbed by the cushioning space S when the intermediate case 9 is deformed by receiving an external impact, and an external force is prevented from reaching the fan case 18.
