PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the storage volume of a lowermost storage compartment and to improve its storing performance by mounting a compressor at an upper part, to simplify the fixing structure of the compressor at a top surface rear portion, and to improve assembling work efficiency by reducing assembling man-hours. SOLUTION: A heat insulating housing composed of an outer box, an inner box and a foamed heat insulation 34 disposed between the outer box and the inner box, comprises a recessed portion 50 recessed to an inner side of the refrigerator at the top surface rear portion of the heat insulating housing, and a cover for covering the recessed portion 50, and the compressor 52 of a refrigerating cycle is directly fixed to a recessed portion component.
