摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve output by enhancing filling efficiency of intake air, and to improve fuel economy by improving combustion, by reducing exhaust pulsation in a communicating passage for communicating an exhaust passage of right and left banks, in an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: In a V type 6-cylinder engine, a cylinder group is arranged by separately arranging a plurality of cylinders as the first bank 12 and second banks 13, right and left. While connecting an intake pipe 51 to the cylinder group of the respective banks 12 and 13, a first exhaust pipe 57 and a second exhaust pipe 58 are connected. A first front-stage three-way catalyst 59 and a second front-stage three-way catalyst 60 are respectively arranged in the respective exhaust pipes 57 and 58, and a first control valve 65 and a second control valve 66 are arranged. The upstream sides of the front-stage three-way catalysts 59 and 60 and the control valves 65 and 66 in the respective exhaust pipes 57 and 58 are communicated by a communicating tube 64.
