PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lyotropic liquid crystal yellow or orange coloring material aligning on an organic thin film with alignment regulating force weaker than stress alignment etc. SOLUTION: The aqueous solution of the compound, for example represented by formula (1-1), forms a stable lyotropic liquid crystal phase, and provides lyotropic liquid crystal yellow or orange coloring material capable of aligning by a weak alignment regulating force of the organic thin film.
