An RF transponder and pressure switch are installed in the vacuum panel. The pressure switch is placed in series with (i.e. can interrupt) the coil and transponder chip circuit. It is alternatively in parallel with it, and can short it out. A read-out instrument external to the panel, stimulates and detects the transponder signal. Depending on the result, either a vacuum or the presence of air is inferred. The pressure switch intervenes between the foil covering and the insulation core. |
