<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermal head wherein electrode wiring can be formed accurately in a narrow wiring region narrow in line and space, and to obtain its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal head comprises a plurality of heating resistors arranged by a predetermined pitch on a convex step part of a glaze substrate, a turning wiring line which conducts electricity to connect a pair of adjoining heating resistors, a common wiring line and discrete wiring lines which energize the pair of heating resistors adjoined via the turning wiring line, and bonding pads formed each at one end of a discrete wiring line. The common wiring line has the narrow wiring region narrow in width and located between the bonding pads arranged in an array shape, and a wide wiring region wider in width than the narrow wiring region. The wide wiring region is formed of a resistor layer and a conductor layer composed of the same material as that of the heating resistors.
