PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent variation in power consumption in a transmission device for outputting data to be outputted during a data valid period when the data exist and outputting dummy data during a data invalid period when the data do not exist. SOLUTION: A selector 16 in the transmission device 30 selects data D1 during the data valid period, and selects dummy data 5 generated by a dummy data generating circuit 17 during the data invalid period. The dummy data generating circuit 17 generates the dummy data having a small difference in a data change rate between the dummy data and data to be outputted during the data valid data. For example, the circuit generates the dummy data 5 having a data change rate of 50% or the dummy data 5 having a data change rate corresponding to the data change rate of the data D1 immediately before the data invalid period.
