PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earthquake resisting structure for a wooden building, which has sufficient strength and suitable restoring force characteristics imparted thereto, and facilitates setting thereof. SOLUTION: In construction of the earthquake resisting structure, metallic vertical frames 41, 42 are arranged in a wall space Sw along insides of columns 2, 3, respectively, and metallic horizontal frames 51, 52 are arranged along insides of a sill 1 and a beam 4, respectively, followed by connecting edges of each of the vertical frames 41, 42, and each of the horizontal frames 51, 52 together in a mutually rotatable manner, to thereby form an internal space Si deformable according to deformation of the wall space Sw. Then an earthquake resisting device 7 operable according to the deformation of the internal space Si is arranged in the internal space Si.
