<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus and an information processing method for allowing a main board and a sub-board to process at an appropriate timing. <P>SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus 1 is provided with the main board 10 to control all of the information processing apparatus and the sub-board 20 to be connected to the main board 10 through a bus 40 and to process a data acquired from the main board 10. The sub-board 20 has a state signal output means 204 to output a state signal to show whether or not the sub-board 20 is accessible, to the main board 10.
