<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image sensor that enables to image light having different wavelengths without causing deterioration in image pickup sensitivity, worsening of a light condensing state, an increase in power consumption and costs, and enlargement of a device size, and a digital camera. <P>SOLUTION: The image sensor is provided with a plurality of light receiving elements 80, which are respectively provided internally into a matrix shape corresponding to each pixel, respectively have a light-receiving face on each surface, and respectively accumulate electric charges in accordance with a light amount of light received on the light-receiving face, and a vertical electric-charge transfer path 82 that outputs the electric charges accumulated in a plurality of the light-receiving elements 80 to the outside. A sensor part 74 of the image sensor is composed so that light can be made incident to each rear face of a plurality of the light-receiving elements 80.
