<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is excellent in reliability by reducing display unevenness in the state of no application of voltage of high-speed responsible ferroelectric liquid crystal. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device comprises: a plurality of pixel electrodes 6 arranged in a matrix shape; a silicon circuit substrate 2 on which switching elements 10 of respectively driving the pixel electrodes 6 are formed; and a glass substrate 3 which faces the silicon circuit substrate 2 and has counter electrodes 16 made of transparent conductive film, formed thereon. Further, the liquid crystal display device is constituted as follow: the ferroelectric liquid crystal 17 is enclosed between the silicon circuit substrate 2 and the glass substrate 3; a memory element 20 for storing charges is disposed between the pixel electrodes 6 and the ferroelectric liquid crystal 17; and a prescribed voltage is applied to the ferroelectric liquid crystal 17 by the memory element 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
