PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply properties of a 6.5% grain oriented silicon steel sheet having maximal performance as an electromagnetic steel sheet to a compact power transformer; and to allow the compact power transformer for mass production which has high efficiency and high performance to be supplied at optimum cost by creating and materializing a new technology, related to a core material, a core formation method, and a coil winding method. SOLUTION: A coil winding method comprises: a step of using a siliconized electromagnetic steel wire as a core material; a step of winding the electromagnetic steel wire so that the cross section of the wire bundle becomes almost circular and then forming the winding in an oval shape having two linear portions; and a step of winding coils by using rotating bobbins each of which can be split into two sections so as to hold one linear portion therebetween and rotate. A rotary gear is provided at both ends of each rotating bobbin, and three or more driving gears are provided at the circumference of each rotary gear to establish a "3-point contact with a circle" condition. The rotating bobbins are rotated about their respective virtual rotation axes in a space to wind coils. Since each linear portion of the core is arranged along the virtual rotation axis of the bobbin around it, it does not become a direct rotation axis when winding a coil. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
