PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To elucidate a mechanism for converting spin polarization current to current in a non-magnetic layer, to provide a battery apparatus which uses this mechanism and has a layered structure of ferromagnetic layer/non-magnetic layer/ferromagnetic layer, and to provide a method of controlling magnetization and a microwave transmitter which use phenomenon that current applied to a non-magnetic layer is converted to spin polarization current. SOLUTION: A battery cell includes at least a first ferromagnetic metal layer 13, a non-magnetic metal layer 12, and a second ferromagnetic metal layer 11 in this order. Further, the battery cell includes a counter electrode for taking out current from a facing end face 23 of the non-magnetic metal layer 12. In this battery cell, the first ferromagnetic metal layer and the second ferromagnetic metal layer each has a thickness of 1 nm to 200 nm, and magnetization directions 14 of the first ferromagnetic metal layer and the second ferromagnetic metal layer are changed together when magnetic field 21 is applied.
