PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a shift of a sub-scanning position, based on highly precise detection result by highly precisely detecting the beam scanning position of an optical beam. SOLUTION: Laser beam detectors P1 and P2 are arranged in places highly accurately detecting the change of a laser beam sub-scanning position on a face to be scanned, namely, in the places where a sub-scanning position change of the face to be scanned and a change detected with the laser beam detector, have interrelation by making the places to hardly receive the influence even when a temperature change occurs to deform an optical housing 11. Specifically, the laser beam detectors are arranged in the places where the deformation of the optical housing 11 is the smallest even at the temperature change, namely, on rear face parts of a fixed part 11a in the housing in the neighborhood of the attaching position to a frame.
