PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint of a steel pipe such as a steel pipe pile, joining upper and lower steel pipe piles without welding at the construction site by simple work. SOLUTION: This joint 3 includes an outer joint 31 and an inner joint 32, wherein a plurality of equilateral pentagonal connecting projections 315 are disposed on a raised face 3,142 of a tray-like recessed part 314 of a tray-like connecting part 311 of the outer joint 31. The connecting projections 325 of the same number as that of the connecting projections 315 are disposed on the peripheral surface of a cylindrical connecting part 321 of the inner joint 32. When the inner joint 32 is rotated with the cylindrical connecting part 321 inserted in the tray-like recessed part 314, the connecting projections 325 are pressed in between the connecting projections 315 and the base 3,141, so that the outer joint 31 and the inner joint 32 are connected to each other with slant faces of both connecting projections in contact with each other.
