PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress blade wear, to obtain stable cleaning property, to prevent occurrence of image defects due to a toner composition adhering to a photoreceptor surface, and to enable uniform application of a lubricant applied to the photoreceptor surface while properly controlling the amount of the lubricant supplied. SOLUTION: An image forming method is provided in which a cleaning blade which is a plate-like elastic body used in a cleaning step in an electrophotographic image forming method has a loss tangent tanδat 10-30°C of≤0.2 and a liquid lubricant is applied on a photoreceptor.
