PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic rectifying element having a structure with a magnetic layer and a non-magnetic layer laminated, and having a rectification. SOLUTION: The magnetic rectifying element R includes a first anchoring layer with a magnetization direction fixed at certain angle to a film surface. A first intermediate layer comprising a non-magnetic substance is provided beneath the first anchoring layer. Further sequentially under it, a free layer magnetized in an in-plane direction and comprising a uniaxial anisotropy magnetic field having an axis of hard magnetization, a second intermediate layer comprising a non-magnetic substance, and a second anchoring layer with a magnetization direction fixed in an in-plane direction are provided. And a magnetic field applying layer is provided and the magnetic field is applied along the direction of the axis of hard magnetization of the free layer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
