PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection valve capable of effectively applying high axial force by fastening a retaining nut, and providing improved assembling work efficiency and high reliability. SOLUTION: In this fuel injection valve 1, a nozzle body 3 formed with a second fuel passage 14 at the end of an injector body 2 formed with a first fuel passage 13 is fixed with the retaining nut 4, and high pressure fuel supplied from the outside is passed through the first and second fuel passages 13, 14 and fed to a fuel sump chamber 15 formed in the nozzle body 3. A coating layer 31 is provided on the part of the outer surface of the nozzle body 3, which receives fastening force by screwing in the nozzle body 3 when the retaining nut 4 is screwed into the injector body 2, and a coefficient of friction between the nozzle body 3 and the retaining nut 4 is reduced.
