PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knitted sock designed so as to prevent part of a sock from partly protruding out of a shoe through the instep part so as to be improved in fashionability. SOLUTION: The knitted sock having a low wearing opening 22 includes an almost bag-like main body part 10 for housing almost the whole of the foot P of a wearer, and a short-cylinder-shaped wearing opening cylindrical part 20 formed so as to be joined with the main body part 10, and housing the lower side part of the heel 31 of the wearer so that an opening edge 21 is placed below the heel 31, wherein a joint part K joined to the wearing opening cylindrical part 20 of the main body part 10, and a front knitted fabric FK at the instep side of at least the joint part K of the wearing opening cylindrical part 20 are short in length along a direction of the wearing opening 22 from the toe of the sock.
