PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel synthetic method for manufacturing in a high yield an organosilicon compound bearing a silyl group which has replaced a hydrogen atom bonded to an aromatic carbon atom. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the organosilicon compound comprises causing a pentacoordinate silicon compound (A) bearing a hydrogen atom bonded to a silicon atom to react with an aromatic hydrocarbon compound or an aromatic heterocyclic compound (B) bearing at least one hydrogen atom bonded to an aromatic carbon atom and having no non-aromatic carbon-carbon unsaturated bond in the presence of a complex catalyst (C) of iridium, ruthenium or rhodium thereby replacing the hydrogen atom bonded to the aromatic carbon atom in the component (B) by a silyl group originating from the pentacoordinate silicon compound (A) bearing the hydrogen atom bonded to the silicon atom.
