PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller which keeps the highest specific pressure at contact points reduced by dispersing points of contact with opposed members and prevents the outer skin made of a synthetic resin from becoming cracked in the most easily breakable point such as a welded part. SOLUTION: A roller 1 has a circumferential groove 3a sunken radially inside in the most swollen part which is swollen radially outward of the outer skin 3 made of a synthetic resin. Circumferential projecting-edges 3b, 3c, that is, both the edges in the axial direction of the circumferential groove 3a are rounded so as to have arc-shaped peripheral surfaces when sectionally viewed in the axial direction. Thus, two vertexes in the coaxial direction of the circumferential projecting-edges 3b, 3c constitute points of contact with opposed members (guide rails), and the highest specific pressure at contact points is reduced by the dispersion.
