<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power recovery box, an image forming apparatus and a powder recovery method in which a powder flow and its flow rate can be arbitrarily controlled even for a toner having high frictional force, and even a small waste toner recovery box can efficiently store the powder. <P>SOLUTION: The powder recovery box 14 is equipped with a powder conveying and pressurizing means that swings the powder recovery box 14 by inputting a vertical movement component and a horizontal movement component, wherein the thickness A of the powder conveying and pressurizing means, the swinging width B thereof in the vertical direction and the singing width C thereof in the horizontal direction satisfy 13 mm>A>7 mm, 10 mm>B>4 mm and 7 mm>C>3 mm, further satisfy B<0.4×e^(0.94×M) and 4mN×m>M>2mN×m, wherein M is the frictional force in powder particles of the powder.
