The device has an oil sucking pipe (2), which is arranged in an oil sump (1), where the pipe has a discharge opening (3) opposite to an oil sump base (4). Oil bypassing units are formed in the area of the opening in such a manner that oil i.e. lubricant, flowing through the oil sucking pipe encloses an acute angle or an obtuse angle with the sump base. A flow body (11) has a flow surface (12), which runs in a longitudinal extension of the pipe, where the body lies in the area of the opening. A suction cover (13) is attached to the pipe, where the suction cover has the body.
