The device (1) has a thermo-converter (5), connected with an upper temperature level, which is formed by a lost heat source (8) of an internal combustion engine (7). A part of the lost heat, released from the internal combustion engine, is converted to a mechanical or an electrical energy. The lost heat source comprises an exhaust line and a coolant circuit or an intercooler of the internal combustion engine. A thermal transducer covers one of working medium, flowing through a thermal engine.
