PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seedling transplanter designed not to damage the stem part 100a of a vine seedling 100 by mitigating soil pressure in inserting the stem part 100a into ridge soil with the stem part 100a nipped with a pair of plate-like planting tines 28. SOLUTION: The seedling transplanter works as follows. When a seedling stem part 100a is nipped with the pair of planting tines 28 in substantially parallel to the tip end 29a of a planting rod 29, in the cross-section direction of the pair of planting tines 28, on the underside 28b thereof, notched recessed parts 28c nearly equal in size to the plate thickness of the planting tines 28 are formed in downwardly opened manner in between the tip site 29a and the seedling stem part 100a. Therefore, when the pair of planting tines 28 are inserted into a ridge upper face 18 in making the planting and the ridge soil is butted on the underside of the seedling stem part 100a in the left and right notched recessed parts 28c, the seedling stem part 100a can bend so as to escape in the direction of either one of the left and right notched recessed parts 28c owing to the resultant soil pressure, thus reducing the case that the seedling stem part 100a is damaged, e.g. crushed or broken by the ridge soil.
