PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spun yarn including a fiber obtained by opening stem parts of a plant cultivated for the main purpose other than fiberization, namely, Hibiscus or Abelmoschus esculentus, treated as a waste in the past and a woven or knitted fabric using the same. SOLUTION: The spun yarn includes a fiber obtained by opening stem parts of Hibiscus or Abelmoschus esculentus and is twisted at 200-2,000 turns/m. The woven or knitted fabric uses the same is provided. The spun yarn may be constituted of Hibiscus fiber or fiber of Abelmoschus esculentus and another fiber. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
