<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively forming a hollow step-profiled shaft, such as a camshaft which is high in accuracy and has excellent productivity without requiring little post-machining for forming. <P>SOLUTION: Large diameter parts 9a-12b of the hollow step-profiled shaft 8 having the large diameter parts in the intermediate part in the axial direction, are approximately simultaneously compressed with forming dies 32a-32d from four directions toward the axial center, and these large diameter parts are formed into the shapes along cavities 38a-38d formed in a region of tips of the forming dies. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
