PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analog electronic timepiece which can switch the day display of a day display means in a fast forward manner by a simple structure, without having to newly add a power source. SOLUTION: The analog electronic timepiece 1 comprises a time-measuring section 2 for measuring the time, a control section 3 for generating and outputting various kinds of control signals through signals from the time measuring section 2, a time/day power source 5 for generating the driving force according to the drive signal output, a time gear train 51 for transmitting the drive force, an hour hand 51a that operates thereby, and a day dial 52a for displaying the day of the week which that operates by driving force which branches off from the time gear train 51 to a day-dial driving gear train mechanism 52. A plurality of kinds of displays with respect to one day are marked on the day dial 52a, and the control section 3 changes the display of the day dial 52a through a driving signal, having a frequency at fast-forward control higher than at normal-forward control.
