Disclosed is a patient health system for transmission of patient health d ata from a patient data collection system to a provider analysis system. The patient data collection system, located proximate a patient, is configured to collect patient physiological data and is operatively coupled to a commun ications network. The patient data collection system includes a patient data collection device couple to a patient work station. The patient work statio n is configured to transmit patient physiological data upon a determination that the communications network is reliable. The provider analysis system is coupled to the communications network and located remote from the patient d ata collection system.
