<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner showing satisfactory high picture quality and low temperature fixability of an image, free from isolation of an additive even in a long-term use and having high durability, a small particle diameter and a narrow particle size distribution, and a method for manufacturing the toner. <P>SOLUTION: The toner for electrostatic charge image development is obtained by mixing two kinds of external additive inorganic particles having different BET specific surface areas, wherein the first additive comprises hydrophobic silica having a BET specific surface area of 80 to 200 m<SP>2</SP>/g, and the second additive has a BET specific surface area smaller than that of the first additive. The toner has a number average particle diameter (Dn) of 2.5 μm to 4.5 μm and a particle size distribution index (Dv/Dn) of 1.0 to 1.3, and is obtained by preliminarily adding 50 to 100% of the whole weight of the second additive to be fed with toner base particles and mixing (first-stage mixing) it in a mixing machine, then adding the rest of the second additive and the entire amount of the first additive and mixing (second-stage mixing) it in a mixing machine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
