PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air battery excellent in heavy-load discharge characteristics and preservation property at an open seal state, by adopting an oxygen-permeable film excellent in permeability of oxygen and permeation suppression of steam and carbon dioxide. SOLUTION: The air battery is provided with an oxygen-permeable film between a catalyst layer of an air electrode and an air hole of the battery case, of which, the oxygen-permeable film is structured of a porous film of a polymer material having a number of pores, and the pores are arrayed so that their sizes are changed inclinedly from one face toward the other.
