PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk unit which prevent a problem occurring in vertical turning of a traverse chassis and chucking of an optical disk when a guide piece at a side edge of a lever shift comes off a guide groove of an inner surface of a loader chassis when being shocked at falling etc. SOLUTION: The optical disk unit has the lever shift 10 on which boss sections 10a and 10b are formed is mounted on the lower face of the front edge of the traverse chassis 2, and the guide pieces 13 and 14 are inserted in the guide grooves 15 and 16 of the inner face of the loader chassis 2 to be able to slide vertically. A guide piece deflection regulating means M is set up for regulating the deflection of the guide pieces 13 to the inner side of the loader chassis due to flexural deformation of the lever shift 10 to prevent the guide pieces from coming off the guide grooves 15 by regulating the guide pieces 13 from deflecting the inner side of the loader chassis with the guide piece 13 deflection regulating means M.
