PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device which prevents the electrostatic discharge between seal tapes and HDAs and does not damage an HDA element section. SOLUTION: The magnetic disk device has a head disk assembly provided with a metallic base 10 and cover 20 housing a magnetic head structure and the seal tape 30 which is stuck to the outer peripheral surface of the base and the cover, and hermetically seal the abutting parts of the base and cover. The seal tape is formed by laminating, successively from the base and cover side, a conductive elastic layer 31, a metallic layer 32, and an insulating elastic layer 33. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
